• The Driskill Family provides a park like atmosphere.   We offer ATM machines, credit card sales, online ticketing, rest areas complete with benches and trash receptacles, and ticket boxes with air conditioning for our committees.

     Courtesy is very important to the success of our company. Our staff understands that the customer is the most important person on the midway and they are to be treated with the utmost respect.

     Mr. Frank McDermott founded McDermott Amusement Company in 1943. With the efforts and perseverance of his fine family, McDermott Amusement Company became the Midwest's leader in outdoor entertainment.

     As a teenager, Robert Driskill worked for Frank McDermott during his childhood before enlisting in the Marines in the early 1960s.  Upon leaving the Marines, Robert took a job with the Oak Lawn Police Department where he worked up to the detective position until 1973 when he resigned from the force.  In 1973, Robert Driskill purchased  McDermott Amusement Company from Frank McDermott. Robert has taken great pride in continuing the tradition that began with the McDermott family in 1943.

     In 1990, the name of the company was changed to Spectacular Midways, creating a new image for the show. We realize the need for a new image in the outdoor amusement industry and we continually strive to create an amusement park atmosphere for our patrons.

     In 1999, Dan Driskill and Rob Driskill under the leadership of their father Robert will take Spectacular Midways to new heights and standards into the new millennium with the help of other family and friends.

     We have a tremendous amount of pride in our company and the first class operation that we provide. We would appreciate the opportunity to present our entertainment package to your organization.
